History of hanuman chalisa and its creation

The Hanuman Chalisa is a revered devotional hymn dedicated to Lord Hanuman, a prominent deity in sanatan dharma. It was composed by the poet-saint Tulsidas in the 16th century in Awadhi, a dialect of Hindi. Tulsidas is widely regarded as one of the greatest devotees of Lord Rama, and his works, including the Hanuman Chalisa, have had a significant impact on devotional practices in Hinduism.

The story behind the creation of the Hanuman Chalisa goes that Tulsidas was inspired by a divine vision of Lord Hanuman. Tulsidas was seeking the blessings of Lord Hanuman to acquire deep devotion and knowledge. In this vision, Lord Hanuman appeared to him and bestowed his blessings. As a result of this divine encounter, Tulsidas was inspired to compose the Hanuman Chalisa.

The Hanuman Chalisa consists of 40 verses or chaupais, each composed in a poetic form. It is written in praise of Lord Hanuman and his various divine qualities, including his devotion to Lord Rama, his strength, courage, wisdom, and compassion.
